The 2HELPS2B score is a validated EEG based risk stratification tool designed to estimate the probability of electrographic seizures in hospitalized and critically ill patients undergoing continuous EEG monitoring.
The score incorporates key EEG features including electrographic seizures periodic discharges epileptiform activity discharge frequency and history of clinical seizure. Each positive feature contributes one point to the total score.
A higher total score is associated with a progressively increased risk of electrographic seizures and may support decisions regarding EEG monitoring duration and early antiseizure treatment.
