Pacemaker Requirement Index after TAVR Calculator

  • Pre-existing right bundle branch block (RBBB)?
  • Pre-procedural aortic valve area (AVA) [cm²]
  • Ratio of post- to pre-procedural AVA
  • Pacemaker Requirement Index after TAVR: Explanation and Clinical Context
This calculator estimates the probability of requiring a permanent pacemaker (PPM) within about 60 days after Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR). Key independent predictors include pre-existing right bundle branch block (RBBB), a larger pre-procedural aortic valve area (AVA), and a higher ratio of post- to pre-procedural AVA, reflecting both conduction substrate vulnerability and mechanical stress on the conduction system. The estimated risk is stratified into low, moderate, high and very high categories based on aggregated scoring translation of odds ratios from the derivation cohort.
