This classification incorporates clinical, anatomical, and procedural variables, such as age, surgical risk scores (e.g., STS-PROM), functional status (NYHA class), left ventricular ejection fraction, and presence of coronary artery disease, to stratify patients into low, intermediate, or high risk for adverse outcomes.
It is widely used in both clinical trials and routine practice to optimize patient selection, guide procedural planning, and predict post-TAVR outcomes.
