Goldenberg Risk Score (ICD Outcome) Calculator
- Goldenberg Risk Score: Explanation and Clinical Context
The Goldenberg Risk Score is designed to predict mortality and appropriate ICD interventions in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF < 35%).
It incorporates five independent predictors: age > 70 years, NYHA class III–IV, QRS duration > 120 ms, presence of atrial fibrillation (AF), and elevated blood urea nitrogen (BUN > 26 mg/dL). Each factor scores 1 point, resulting in a total score of 0–5.
Patients are stratified into low, intermediate, and high-risk groups for ICD events, assisting clinicians in decision-making for device therapy and risk counseling.
