Early Graft Failure Risk (post-CABG) Calculator
- Early Graft Failure Risk (post-CABG): Explanation and Clinical Context
This calculator estimates the probability of early saphenous vein graft (SVG) occlusion within 12 months after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) using the SAFINOUS model (Antonopoulos et al., JTCVS 2020). It incorporates patient factors (age, sex, dyslipidemia, diabetes, smoking, serum creatinine), operative details (endoscopic vein harvesting, complex graft configuration), graft target territory, and number of SVGs. The model provides a quantitative risk estimate that may support surgical planning, conduit selection, and postoperative surveillance strategies.
Notes:
• Outcome: angiographic or CT-confirmed early SVG occlusion (≤12 months).
• Scope: SVGs only; arterial grafts excluded.
• The risk band displayed (Low, Intermediate, High) is for interpretation aid only and not part of the original model.
• The calculator uses the published coefficients and intercept from the SAFINOUS dataset.
