  • Keto Macronutrient Planner explanation and clinical context
The planner estimates basal metabolic rate using the Mifflin St Jeor equation and multiplies by an activity factor to estimate total daily energy expenditure. The calorie target is adjusted according to the selected goal maintain lose or gain weight. Protein is set to a moderate target of 1.5 grams per kilogram body weight to support lean mass and satiety while minimizing excessive protein that could impair ketosis. Carbohydrate is set as a user adjustable net carbohydrate target with a default of 25 grams per day which is commonly used in classical ketogenic approaches to facilitate nutritional ketosis. Remaining calories are allocated to fat which becomes the primary energy source on a ketogenic eating pattern. The planner presents grams calories and percent distribution so clinicians and users can review the balance and modify protein or carbohydrate targets as clinically indicated.

    Clinical notes

Use this planner as an initial estimate. Individual requirements vary by age body composition metabolic state and comorbidity. In patients with diabetes lipid disorders renal impairment or other medical conditions consult specialist guidance and monitor metabolic and biochemical markers. For weight loss aim for sustainable calorie deficits and combine dietary changes with physical activity and behavioral strategies.
