  • MAGGIC Risk Score: Comprehensive Explanation and Clinical Context
The MAGGIC (Meta-Analysis Global Group in Chronic Heart Failure) Risk Score is a validated clinical tool developed from over 39,000 patients with heart failure across 30 cohort studies. It predicts all-cause mortality in both HFrEF and HFpEF patients by integrating 13 routinely available variables such as age, sex, NYHA class, LVEF, blood pressure, BMI, renal function, and comorbidities.

Normal Value and Interpretation: There is no "normal" score; higher MAGGIC scores correspond to higher predicted mortality. Typically, patients with scores below 15 have low annual mortality (<10%), while those above 25 carry high risk (>30%).

Clinical Significance: The score supports risk stratification, patient counseling, and follow-up planning. It complements, but does not replace, clinical judgment and biomarkers like NT-proBNP.
