The Pro-BNP Risk Score is a validated clinical tool used to estimate the risk of adverse outcomes, including hospitalization and mortality, in patients with heart failure.
It is primarily based on serum NT-proBNP levels, reflecting myocardial wall stress, combined with clinical variables such as age. Higher NT-proBNP levels and older age are associated with increased risk.
This score allows clinicians to stratify patients into low, intermediate, or high-risk categories, guiding treatment intensity, follow-up frequency, and potential advanced therapy consideration.
