- ADHERE Renal Subscore: Explanation and Clinical Context
The ADHERE Renal Subscore is part of the ADHERE risk model, developed to estimate in-hospital mortality risk for patients admitted with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF).
It incorporates renal function parameters, specifically serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels, to assess the severity of renal impairment.
Higher levels of creatinine and BUN are associated with worse renal function and increased mortality risk.
This subscore aids clinicians in risk stratification, guiding treatment decisions and resource allocation.
