  • Anesthesia Recovery Score Explanation and Clinical Context
The Anesthesia Recovery Score also known as the Aldrete Score is a widely used clinical tool to evaluate patient readiness for discharge from the post anesthesia care unit. It assesses five physiological domains including activity respiration circulation consciousness and oxygen saturation. Each category is scored from zero to two with a maximum total score of ten. A score of nine or more is generally considered safe for transfer or discharge as it reflects stable hemodynamic status adequate ventilation appropriate level of consciousness and satisfactory neuromuscular recovery. This calculator helps clinicians standardize postoperative evaluation improve patient safety and support decision making during recovery assessment.
