- BCN Bio-HF Score: Explanation and Clinical Context
BCN Bio-HF Score is a biomarker-based risk model developed to predict long-term mortality in patients with chronic heart failure and reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).
It uses a combination of clinical variables and circulating biomarkers, including BNP/NT-proBNP and high-sensitivity troponin, to enhance risk stratification beyond traditional clinical scores.
The scoring system assigns weighted points to each parameter according to its relative prognostic importance, enabling precise categorization into low, moderate, or high risk of long-term mortality.
This tool assists clinicians in personalizing therapy, optimizing patient management, and allocating resources effectively.
