CABG Complexity Index: Explanation and Clinical Context
The CABG Complexity Index is a scoring system used to assess the complexity of coronary artery disease in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).
It considers factors such as the number of coronary arteries involved, the presence of chronic total occlusions (CTOs), bifurcation lesions, calcified lesions, and thrombus.
Higher scores indicate more complex coronary anatomy, which may influence surgical decision-making and patient outcomes.
