China-PAR Cardiovascular Risk Calculator
10-Year ASCVD Risk Estimation
Enter the patient's clinical and demographic characteristics to estimate 10-year ASCVD risk.
About China-PAR
China-PAR (Prediction for ASCVD Risk in China) estimates the 10-year risk of a first atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease event using sex-specific Cox proportional hazards equations developed in Chinese cohorts.
The model includes age, systolic blood pressure and antihypertensive treatment, total cholesterol, HDL-C, waist circumference, current smoking, diabetes, and geographic region. Residential urbanization and family history of ASCVD are included in the male equation.
Risk categories
| Estimated 10-year risk | Category |
|---|---|
| <5% | Low risk |
| 5% to <10% | Moderate risk |
| ≥10% | High risk |
Model calculation
Risk = 1 − S10exp(Individual LP − Mean LP). The published model uses sex-specific coefficients, interaction terms between log(age) and log(SBP), and different coefficients according to antihypertensive treatment status.
For implementation, published coefficients are used at their reported precision. Therefore, calculated values may differ slightly from implementations using higher-precision internal coefficients.
Important population limitation
China-PAR was developed for Chinese populations. Do not interpret this estimate as a validated risk estimate for Indonesian or other non-Chinese populations. Regional inputs refer to Northern or Southern China, not the patient's current country of residence.
