CTEP Index Calculator
- CTEP Index: Explanation and Clinical Context
The CTEP Index is a scoring system developed to assess the thromboembolic potential in patients with infective endocarditis. It incorporates two key factors: the size of the vegetation and the presence of Staphylococcus aureus as the causative organism. A vegetation size of 13 mm or greater and the identification of Staphylococcus aureus are associated with a higher risk of embolic events.
