hs-Troponin Delta Algorithm (0 to1-h and 0 to 2-h ESC models) Calculator
- hs-Troponin Delta Algorithm (0/1-h and 0/2-h ESC models): Explanation and Clinical Context
The high-sensitivity troponin (hs-Tn) delta algorithms are validated tools to rapidly triage patients presenting with suspected non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS).
The 0/1-hour algorithm uses the baseline hs-Tn level and the absolute change after 1 hour to stratify patients into 'Rule-Out', 'Rule-In', or 'Observe'.
Similarly, the 0/2-hour algorithm uses the baseline hs-Tn and the change at 2 hours. These algorithms enable early discharge of low-risk patients and timely intervention for high-risk patients.
The cutoffs are based on ESC 2020 guidelines and derived from large prospective validation studies.
