ICE-PCS 6-Month Mortality Risk Calculator
- ICE-PCS 6-Month Mortality Risk Model: Explanation and Clinical Context
The ICE-PCS 6-Month Mortality Risk Model is a validated tool developed to predict the 6-month mortality risk in patients with infective endocarditis (IE).
It incorporates clinical variables such as age, dialysis status, presence of prosthetic or nosocomial IE, left-sided valve vegetation, severe heart failure, stroke, paravalvular complications, and persistent bacteremia.
The model was developed using data from the International Collaboration on Endocarditis (ICE) Prospective Cohort Study (PCS) and externally validated in the ICE-PLUS cohort.
This tool assists clinicians in identifying high-risk patients who may benefit from more intensive monitoring and therapeutic interventions.
