LMNA Mutation Risk Model (SCD in DCM) Calculator

  • Non-Sustained Ventricular Tachycardia (NSVT) (0 = No, 1 = Yes)
  • Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction (LVEF %)
  • Male Sex (0 = No, 1 = Yes)
  • Non-missense LMNA mutation (0 = No, 1 = Yes)
  • LMNA Mutation Risk Model (Sudden Cardiac Death in DCM): Explanation and Clinical Context
The LMNA Mutation Risk Model predicts the 5-year risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD) in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) carrying LMNA gene mutations. Key predictors include the presence of non-sustained ventricular tachycardia (NSVT), reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF < 45%), male sex, and the presence of a non-missense LMNA mutation. Each factor contributes to a point-based risk score, stratifying patients into low, moderate, high, very high, or extremely high risk categories.
This tool aids clinicians in identifying patients who may benefit from preventive strategies such as implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) placement.
