- MUSTT Score (VT Inducibility): Explanation and Clinical Context
The MUSTT (Multicenter Unsustained Tachycardia Trial) Score is designed to estimate the risk of arrhythmic events and sudden cardiac death in patients with prior myocardial infarction, left ventricular dysfunction, and non-sustained ventricular tachycardia.
It incorporates key clinical parameters: age, left ventricular ejection fraction, NYHA functional class, history of prior myocardial infarction, presence of non-sustained VT on Holter, and inducibility of VT during electrophysiological study.
Higher scores correlate with higher risk, and patients with inducible VT are considered at particularly increased risk, which can guide decisions regarding ICD implantation.
