- Post-Cardiac Rehabilitation Risk Reduction Score: Explanation and Clinical Context
The Post-Cardiac Rehabilitation Risk Reduction Score (PCRRRS) is a clinical tool designed to assess the potential risk reduction in patients with cardiovascular disease who participate in cardiac rehabilitation (CR).
Studies have shown that CR is associated with a 20% to 30% reduction in mortality in individuals with coronary artery disease, particularly after myocardial infarction or revascularization procedures.
The PCRRRS considers factors such as age, gender, smoking status, diabetes, and attendance in CR programs to estimate the potential benefits of CR in reducing cardiovascular risk.
