PRECISE-DAPT Score Calculator

  • PRECISE DAPT Score Clinical Explanation and Context
The PRECISE DAPT Score is a validated clinical tool designed to estimate bleeding risk in patients undergoing dual antiplatelet therapy following percutaneous coronary intervention. The score includes age, hemoglobin, white blood cell count, creatinine clearance, and history of prior bleeding, which together reflect hematologic status, renal function, and vulnerability to hemorrhagic complications. A score of 25 or higher indicates a high risk of major bleeding events, and in this population a shorter duration of dual antiplatelet therapy is generally recommended. A score below 25 places the patient in a low bleeding risk category and supports continuation of standard or extended dual antiplatelet therapy depending on ischemic risk. The score has been incorporated into decision making for balancing ischemic protection with bleeding safety, particularly in the era of potent P2Y12 inhibitors. It is important to evaluate clinical context, ongoing risk factors, concurrent medications, and procedural characteristics when interpreting this score.
