Patient risk factors

European cardiovascular risk assessment for older adults. All fields are required.

Years

Select the ESC risk region corresponding to the patient's country. Not calibrated for Indonesia.

Total cholesterol must exceed HDL cholesterol. Convert mg/dL to mmol/L before entry (divide by 38.67).

Awaiting patient data

Complete all inputs to calculate the 10-year cardiovascular risk.

This calculator applies the original 2021 SCORE2-OP model and European regional recalibration.

About the model

SCORE2-OP estimates 10-year risk of fatal or nonfatal cardiovascular disease (cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, or stroke) in older adults without known atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. It accounts for competing non-cardiovascular mortality and uses sex-specific coefficients and European regional recalibration.

Interpretation

Age groupLower riskHigh riskVery high risk
≥70 years<7.5%7.5% to <15%≥15%

These are 2021 ESC prevention guideline age-specific 10-year risk categories, not automatic treatment mandates. Consider frailty, life expectancy, comorbidities, treatment preferences, and clinical context.

Model limitations

Not intended for patients with established ASCVD. The European region-specific model has not been validated for routine application to Indonesian populations. A 10-year estimate may be less meaningful in patients with limited life expectancy. The model is not a diagnostic test.
