  • About SYNTAX II Score: The SYNTAX II Score combines anatomical and clinical variables to estimate 4-year mortality and guide revascularization strategy between PCI and CABG in patients with complex coronary artery disease. It improves upon the original SYNTAX I Score by incorporating key clinical parameters including age, sex, LVEF, renal function, COPD, PAD, and clinical presentation.
Clinical Interpretation: A lower predicted mortality for PCI versus CABG indicates that percutaneous coronary intervention may be reasonable. Conversely, higher predicted mortality for PCI suggests that coronary artery bypass grafting may offer a better long-term outcome. This score emphasizes a personalized, heart-team, based approach rather than anatomy alone.
