What is Appcardio?
Appcardio is a free, open-access platform designed to make cardiology workflows faster, simpler, and more precise. It was born from real challenges inside a cardiology residency, where accuracy and efficiency matter every day.
Before Appcardio: Manual Calculations
Cardiology residents at Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia traditionally relied on mobile phone calculators to perform formulas manually, from LV mass to QT corrections. It worked, but it consumed time and increased the risk of calculation variance during busy clinical shifts.
The First Tool: Microsoft Excel
To improve efficiency, a simple Microsoft Excel file was introduced. It automated several cardiology calculations, reducing manual workload significantly. Yet, Excel had limitations; especially with sharing, version control, and cross-device accessibility.
Improved Accessibility with Google Sheets
Moving the tool to Google Sheets made collaboration easier. Residents could access formulas from anywhere, update it live, and learn from each other. But as features expanded, Google Sheets became less ideal for complex logic, UI improvements, and structured validation.
The Birth of Appcardio
The growing complexity of clinical needs inspired the creation of Appcardio; a dedicated, modern platform built for precision and scalability. Appcardio now offers trusted cardiology tools that are free, fast, accessible, and require no registration.
Why Appcardio Exists
Small inefficiencies accumulate into meaningful delays in clinical work. Appcardio helps reduce cognitive load, minimize manual errors, and give clinicians more time for what matters most, caring for patients.
