IVF Based Estimated Date of Delivery Calculator

  • Date of Egg Retrieval or Fertilization
  • Embryo Transfer Type
  • IVF Based Estimated Date of Delivery Explanation and Clinical Context
Estimated Date of Delivery in pregnancies achieved through in vitro fertilization follows a more accurate methodology because the exact timing of fertilization and embryo transfer is known. Calculation begins from the date of oocyte retrieval or fertilization which is considered equivalent to a gestational age of fourteen days. Embryo age at transfer is then added to determine gestational age at the time of implantation. Fresh and frozen transfers use the same biological principle that embryo age contributes to the starting gestational age. Once the initial gestational age is defined the remaining time to reach two hundred eighty days of gestation is calculated to determine the Estimated Date of Delivery. This method is more precise compared with natural conception because ovulation timing variability is removed entirely. Clinicians use this estimation for antenatal care planning fetal growth assessment and timing of screening examinations.
