CA125 Congestive Cardiorenal Score (CCRS): Explanation and Clinical Context The CA125 Congestive Cardiorenal Score (CCRS) is a validated risk assessment tool designed to predict adverse cardiorenal events in patients with heart failure. It integrates clinical parameters including age, NYHA functional class, serum creatinine levels, and CA125 levels to estimate the risk of worsening cardiorenal syndrome and overall prognosis.
The scoring assigns points to high-risk features: age > 70 years, NYHA class III–IV, elevated serum creatinine (>1.5 mg/dL), and elevated CA125 (>35 U/mL). The total score stratifies patients into low, intermediate, or high risk categories, guiding clinicians in early intervention, monitoring, and therapeutic optimization.
