CHOP-CHD Neurodevelopmental Risk Index Calculator
- CHOP-CHD Neurodevelopmental Risk Index: Explanation and Clinical Context
The CHOP-CHD Neurodevelopmental Risk Index is a validated tool designed to estimate the probability of neurodevelopmental impairment in children following congenital heart disease (CHD) surgery.
It incorporates key clinical and perioperative variables, including gestational age, birth weight, presence of single ventricle physiology, duration of cardiopulmonary bypass, and socioeconomic risk factors.
The index applies a logistic regression model to generate a predicted risk percentage for adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes, helping clinicians identify high-risk patients and tailor early interventions.
