HeartQoL Global Index Calculator
- HeartQoL Global Index: Explanation and Clinical Context
The HeartQoL is a validated disease-specific health-related quality of life (HRQOL) questionnaire for patients with ischemic heart disease, including angina and myocardial infarction.
It consists of a 14-item instrument with two subscales: Physical (10 items, range 0–32) and Emotional (4 items, range 0–24).
The Global Index is calculated as the mean of Physical and Emotional subscale scores.
A higher score indicates better quality of life, with 0 representing the worst possible HRQOL and 4 representing the best.
HeartQoL is widely used in clinical trials and patient monitoring to assess treatment impact on quality of life and to guide holistic patient care.
