Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Myocarditis Risk Index Calculator

  • Active Thymoma (Yes=1, No=0)
  • Cardio-Muscular Symptoms (Yes=1, No=0)
  • Low QRS Voltage (< 0.5 mV=1, >1 mV=0)
  • Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction (LVEF) <50% (Yes=1, No=0)
  • Troponin Elevation (fold above upper reference limit)
  • Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Myocarditis Risk Index: Explanation and Clinical Context
This risk index is derived from a multicenter study involving 748 patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). The index incorporates five key factors: presence of active thymoma, cardio-muscular symptoms, low QRS voltage on electrocardiogram, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) <50%, and elevated troponin levels. A higher score correlates with an increased risk of severe myocarditis and related adverse cardiac events. Clinicians can use this tool to stratify patients and tailor management strategies accordingly.
