Primary Aldosteronism Cardiovascular Trait Score (PACT Score) Calculator
- Primary Aldosteronism Cardiovascular Trait (PACT) Score: Explanation and Clinical Context
The PACT Score is designed to quantify the cardiovascular risk in patients suspected of primary aldosteronism, integrating key clinical and biochemical traits such as blood pressure, serum potassium, plasma aldosterone concentration, and plasma renin activity.
It calculates the Aldosterone-to-Renin Ratio (ARR) and assigns weighted points to critical thresholds predictive of cardiovascular morbidity.
A higher score correlates with increased risk of hypertension-related cardiovascular damage, left ventricular hypertrophy, atrial fibrillation, and long-term cardiovascular events.
Clinically, it can guide risk stratification, treatment prioritization, and identification of patients requiring confirmatory testing for primary aldosteronism.
