- Renal Recovery Probability (after HF hospitalization): Explanation and Clinical Context
The Renal Recovery Probability (RRP) score is a clinical tool developed to predict the likelihood of kidney function recovery within 90 days and 12 months after dialysis initiation in patients with end-stage kidney disease due to acute kidney injury (AKI).
It incorporates factors such as age, sex, body mass index (BMI), hemoglobin levels, and prior nephrology care to stratify patients into low, medium, or high recovery probability categories.
This tool aids clinicians in identifying patients who may benefit from intensive monitoring and early interventions to promote renal recovery and potentially reduce the need for long-term dialysis.
