National Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) Registry Utility Estimator
- National Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) Registry Utility Estimator: Explanation and Clinical Context
This tool estimates the 5-year risk of sudden cardiac death based on patient characteristics collected in national SCD registries.
It incorporates variables including age, sex, history of myocardial infarction, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), and history of heart failure.
The model uses logistic regression to calculate the probability of SCD. Higher predicted percentages indicate a higher individual risk, guiding clinicians in preventive strategies such as ICD implantation or intensified monitoring.
