SLEDAI Lupus Activity Score Calculator
- SLEDAI Lupus Activity Score Explanation and Clinical Context
SLEDAI is a validated global index used to quantify disease activity in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. It evaluates clinical and laboratory findings that reflect inflammatory activity over the preceding ten days. The score incorporates neurological involvement renal manifestations mucocutaneous changes musculoskeletal signs serologic activity and constitutional symptoms. Higher scores reflect more active disease. A score from zero to five suggests mild activity a score from six to ten indicates moderate activity a score from eleven to nineteen represents high activity and a score of twenty or greater indicates very high disease activity. SLEDAI assists clinicians in monitoring disease fluctuations evaluating therapeutic responses and guiding escalation or de escalation of immunosuppressive treatment in order to prevent long term organ damage.
